Burn Guide
Here at GlowHush we want you to get the very best out of your candle in terms of scent throw and longevity and to help you do this we've put together this little burn guide.
As will all Soy wax candles, the first burn is the most important. Soy wax has a memory, the candle ‘remembers the size of the initially melt pool and will tend to only burn as far as it has reached. Making sure first burn is long enough to create a melt pool that covers the entire diameter of the candle is the most important point. This should take 2-3 hours. If the candle is not burned to the outside of the jar on the first burn, it will tend to tunnel causing you to lose valuable candle burn time.
Try not to let your candle burn for more than four hours at a time as this can sometimes cause the wick to ‘mushroom’ and smoke and throw soot. If this happens all you need to do is extinguish the flame and trim the wick to 1/4 inch and the candle will burn perfectly once more.
Once there is only 5mm of wax left of your candle, extinguish flame and do not relight.
Drafts, air currents and uneven surfaces are not your candle’s best friend. They can cause them to burn unevenly so pick a perfect spot away from places such as open windows, external doors or air conditioning units
Now all that is left to do is light your candle and enjoy.
