We Love West Kirby
As most of you will know, GlowHush is based in West Kirby, the Paradise Peninsula of the North West of England. We are also just a stones throw away from the beautiful North Wales and bustling City of Liverpool too....but we’ll save talking about those for another day!
We are extremely passionate about supporting our local community and the local businesses within it, and so we wanted to share with you, a few of our favourite places in (or extremely close to) West Kirby,... bearing in mind that there are SO many more amazing places to mention, but for now here’s our top five...
Glowhush’s Top 5 Places in West Kirby:
Acacia Grove, West Kirby, Wirral, CH48 4DD
This adorable, cute and quirky café situated in the heart of West Kirby is such a great place to meet up with friends and family for a good catch up over a cheeky coffee, breakfast, brunch or lunch. Their French Bistro style food is absolutely amazing, and the little orange biscuits that you get with your tea or coffee are just to die for! We cannot recommend this place enough.

2. The Viking Pub and Bakehouse
Black Horse Hill, Birkenhead, West Kirby CH48 6DS
The Viking is run by the talented Simon Rimmer from Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, and it is such a great place to go to with your family and friends.
This is also a firm favourite with our children, who are kept entertained with the lovely little cinema room, the table top toys, and the wooden ‘viking ship’ outside which provides imaginative play ‘gold’ for them and their friends!
Their food and cocktails are amazing, which makes it an all round winner in our eyes.

138 Banks Rd, West Kirby, Wirral CH48 0RD
If you are looking for great Italian Cuisine, visit West Kirby’s best kept secret, Andre’s. It may look like something from the set of ‘Home & Away’ from the outside, but it serves cracking pizzas and some of the most authentic Italian food that you will get around these parts. They also offer a half price night every Wednesday - but be sure to reserve your table early as they get booked up really quickly.

4. The Marine Lake
South Parade, West Kirby CH48 3HZ
West Kirby’s Marine Lake is just gorgeous and perfect for sunset strolls, water sports, jogging, and walks with the family and pets. The views over to North Wales and to Hilbre Island (another firm favourite) are just spectacular and always make us feel incredibly lucky.

5. Caldy Hill
Our final place is the beautiful Caldy Hill, which again displays stunning views down on to West Kirby and over to North Wales and the River Dee. This is a perfect place to go for walks with the family to build a den, be at one with nature or to just to help dust off the cobwebs.
So there you have it, a little insight into how we like to live life (when not up to our eyeballs in candles and wax melts) in our hometown of West Kirby – which was once described to us as “somewhere where you always feel like you’re on holiday”, which we think sums it perfectly.
