GlowHush Loves Christmas
Christmas is getting closer and closer, and we cannot blooming wait!
Here is a list of our Christmas favourites...
1. Christmas Movie: Elf
“Sannnnnnttaaaaa - I know him!” Who does’t like this film!? It’s just so much fun, and a firm favourite for the whole GlowHush family.
In the film, Buddy (Will Ferrell) was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised to adulthood among Santa's elves. Unable to shake the feeling that he doesn't fit in, the adult Buddy travels to New York, in full elf uniform, in search of his real father. As it happens, this is Walter Hobbs (James Caan), a cynical businessman. After a DNA test proves this, Walter reluctantly attempts to start a relationship with the childlike Buddy with increasingly chaotic results.
If you haven’t seen it yet, you simply must.
2. Christmas Song - Driving Home for Christmas
"I'm driving home for Christmas
Oh, I can't wait to see those faces"
This Christmas song just makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside, it is just so lovely. It was written by Chris Rea and was realised in 1986 (yikes, that makes us feel incredibly old now!).
3. Christmas Treat - Mince Pies
For those who don’t know, a mince pie is a sweet pie of British origin, filled with a mixture of dried fruits and spices called "mincemeat", that is traditionally served during the Christmas season in the English-speaking world. THEY ARE DELICIOUS!
Here is a recipe by the amazing Delia, for those feeling adventurous. However, Aldi also does amazing ready made ones too!
4. Christmas Drink - Prosecco Cocktail
Although Gin is a our current favourite tipple. Over Christmas we like to jazz things up a little, and so a favourite of ours is this amazing Prosecco Cocktail, known to some as ’The Sugar Cube’.
To create this classic cocktail, place one sugar cube at the bottom of the glass. Splash with three or four dashes of Angostura Bitters. Add ½ ounce of brandy and top with Prosecco.
This makes us want to dance on the table just thinking about it!
5. Christmas Vegetable - Sprouts!
Love them or hate them, Christmas for us, is all about the sprouts!
The Brussels sprout is a member of the Gemmifera Group of cabbages, grown for its edible buds. The leafy green vegetables are typically 2.5–4 cm in diameter and look like miniature cabbages.
6. Christmas Candle - Winter Wonderland
Ok, so we may be a little biased here, but we just cannot get enough of our GlowHush Winter Wonderland fragrance - with its green stems, violet & ozonic notes leading to a heart lily, mimosa, carnation & jasmine. The woody base of amber, sandalwood & moss is smothered by hints of vanilla & musk. Ummmmmmmmmmmm!
The is currently our Fragrance of the Month (#FOTM), and so to celebrate we are offering our Winter Wonderland candles at the discounted price of just £10, PLUS we will pop in a FREE Winter Wonderland wax melt in every order too!! Bargain hey?!
